They have an entire vegan menu. We were impressed by the nigiri which was delicious. The rest of the Maki rolls were normal, can probably be a bit more generous with fillings and rolled better so they are not falling apart. I'm sorry but the vegan chicken roll was not good lol. Would come back to try more of the menu. Generally happy to have a casual vegan sushi option in Vancouver.

Good sushi with friendly service. We stopped by for a late dinner and were served quickly. The prices for the different rolls were reasonable and they have a huge vegan menu. Their unagi and house rolls are also pretty tasty. Good neighborhood spot for tasty, well-priced sushi!

Absolutely loved the sushi here. I appreciate they had a dedicated vegan sushi menu with so many cool options. Front of house is so nice and I highly recommend the vegan crab oshi! Every other roll I had was delish too but the oshi stood out to me the most

We wanted to try Ogenki because we were thrilled by the creative vegan sushi offerings. The sushi was good, and I enjoyed the vegan takes on classic sushi rolls. I enjoyed the miso as well. Our server was quite rude. They were not friendly or pleasant, and we felt very rushed. They made some off-putting comments towards us. Another staff member who brought us our food was extremely friendly, however.

Hands down one of the best sushi spots I’ve ever tried in Vancouver! Everything was absolutely delicious, especially the salmon sashimi, which was incredibly fresh., the mango island roll was my favourite!! The presentation was beautiful too, you can really tell they put a lot of care into both the quality and the visuals. The owner was also super sweet and fun. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you like sushi!!

The Ogenki logo image is quite prominent on this section of Main Street when we visit the shops on the opposite side of the street. Prominent doesn't necessarily translate to desirable though, in this case, the gimmicky symbol and the name "Fusion" gave me the impression that the food may not be authentic Japanese and I may not like it. However, while Googling for 'vegan food near me', Ogenki showed up on the results. A quick search on the word 'vegan' in the reviews section yielded comments like "Love the vegan menu" and "sophisticated vegan Japanese food". They actually have a separate two-page full of vegan sushi options and the main fusion menu is many pages long. The most impressive thing about the menu is that all the ingredients are clearly listed. For example: 'Spicy Green Dragon Roll' – inside: vegan crab meat, asparagus tempura, avocado. On top: avocado, vegan spicy mayo, sesame seeds, (contains wheat, soy, garlic). Naturally, I asked why sushi would contain garlic, and the answer was that the vegan mayo for the crab meat contains sriracha which has garlic. So, even though the garlic taste in this case will not be detectable, they still list it – how awesome is that! Also, the tempura batter does not contain egg. Because the vegan rolls and Tempura contains quite a bit of deep fried foods, I also asked about cross contamination in terms of the same oil used to fry Chicken Karaage, Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab, Croquettes, Squid, and Chicken Wings would also be used to fry the vegan tempura. So, even though they do change the oil daily, I cannot order anything deep fried from the vegan menu. I was going to order one of the five vegan Bento Boxes. But the Bento Boxes all contain 3 pieces of yam tempura, I didn't. The suggested, however, that the yam ca be steamed instead. So, in the end, we ordered a Vegan Veggie Gyoza Bento Box, a Totem Roll, salmon belly sashimi and Hamachi sashimi. The sashimi came first, from the way the fish were cut and presented, we knew that the food will be very good and they were. I found out the other day from another website that imitation crab contains egg. So, it is a relief that the vegan crab at Ogenki Sushi is made of firm tofu and they use vegan mayo! To be able to avoid egg is critical for me.

I am amazed by Ogenki’s friendly atmosphere and ambient vibration. It is definitely a nice place for socializing or celebration on Main Street. I have tried most of sushi restaurants in Metro Vancouver, and I could honestly say that Ogenki’s food quality and taste are in high end. I specially recommend Salmon Aburi (oshi sushi) which looks good, smell good and taste good. BTW, they are generously offering free Mango Island Roll if you are willing to post photo on social media.
